1 ½ pound ground beef (I used half ground beef, half ground pork)
2/3 cup breadcrumbs
1 cup milk
2 eggs
¼ c grated onion
1 tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
½ tsp sage
½ tsp thyme
Topping: (this is double the original recipe as we love it!)
½ cup ketchup
¼ cup brown sugar
2 tsp ground mustard
1/2 tsp nutmeg
Place ground beef and pork in mixing bowl.
In another bowl or 2 cup measuring cup, add milk, breadcrumbs, eggs and mix well.
Pour milk mixture onto meat and mix just until combined. Overmixing can make the meatloaf less tender.
Bake 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and add sauce and spread over the top.
Return to oven for around 25 more minutes or until internal temperature of 165 degrees.
This is so great as a leftover, either reheated or cold in a sandwich.
